Welcome to a new school year!

A fresh start filled with excitement, hope, and new beginnings

This year’s first day of school falls on a Tuesday, August 12, 2025. Students and teachers joyfully began the new school year with morning activities. The first day of school is always special — a fresh start filled with excitement, hope, and new beginnings. It’s the time to meet friends again, discover new lessons, and grow together in knowledge and character.

The school community gathered in the gymnasium for the formal welcoming of the new school year. Parents of new students attended the gathering. School Chaplain Fr. Tomasz Zalewski, OP, led the Morning Prayer, assisted by the members of the student council. Following the prayer were the usual singing of the Taiwan National Anthem, Dominican, and the D’TORCH Hymns. Sr. Jacqueline C. Manuel, OP, Directress/Principal, welcomes the school community.

She mentioned that together, we can create a community where everyone feels valued and inspired to do their best. She inspired the students to believe in their abilities and never stop reaching for their dreams. For the teachers, she said Thank you for your dedication and care. And for the parents and families, she stated that your partnership makes all the difference.

Mr. Joe Schoeman, Academic and Curriculum Coordinator, introduced the new students. The whole student body warmly welcomed these eighty-seven new students. New teachers and staff were also introduced. The student council president, Joseph Lee, headed the dance performance from the members of the Student Council, Dominican Youth Movement, and D’TORCH House student captains. The whole crowd cheered upon seeing their performance.

The beginning of every school year is a moment filled with energy, hope, and possibility. It’s a time to start fresh — to set new goals, make new friends, and continue the journey of learning and discovery.

Start children off on the way they should go, and even when they are old they will not turn from it.
