Every year on September 8, the Church gathers in joy to celebrate the Feast of the Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary. It is a day that reminds us of God’s promise of salvation and the beginning of something beautiful — the birth of the Mother of our Savior. Mary’s birth is not only a moment of joy for heaven but also for all of us here on earth. Through her, God’s plan of redemption began to unfold. Her coming into the world was the first light of a new dawn — a sign of hope that would later be fulfilled in the birth of Jesus Christ.
The community came together for a Solemn Mass in honor of the Blessed Virgin’s Nativity, officiated by Father Tomasz Zalewski, OP. In his homily, Father Tomasz spoke about the inspiring lives of the two newly canonized saints — Blessed Pier Giorgio Frassati and Blessed Carlo Acutis — both shining examples of youthful faith, joy, and devotion to God. He encouraged everyone, especially the young, to live out their faith with the same passion and generosity that marked the lives of these modern-day saints.
After the Mass, the induction ceremony of the Volunteer Involved Parents was held, marking the beginning of another year of shared service and dedication. The event recognized the parents’ commitment to actively support school activities and community programs inspired by faith and cooperation.
Following the induction, a ceremonial turnover of the by-laws took place, with Ms. Janice Liu, the outgoing chairperson, formally passing on the responsibilities to Mr. Willis Lu, the new chairperson. It was a heartfelt moment that symbolized unity, continuity, and the spirit of collaboration rooted in Christian values.
Born to Saints Joachim and Anne, Mary lived a life of purity, faith, and quiet strength. Her birth reminds us that God works through ordinary people and simple beginnings. Like her, we are called to trust in God’s plan, to listen, and to say “yes” with open hearts.
The Feast of the Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary is a beautiful reminder of God’s love at work through her life. As we honor her birth, we also renew our devotion to follow her example — to live with faith, humility, and joy, and to bring the light of Christ to others.
