Every race was a chance to push myself and represent DIS with pride. But what meant the most was knowing my teammates were there cheering me on β we all gave our best.

The air was filled with excitement, the sound of splashing water echoed across the pool, and cheers from teammates and supporters filled the stands as the Dominican International School swimmers took their marks. Twenty-four dedicated athletes proudly represented DIS at the Middle School and High School Swimming Meet, held on September 26β27, 2025. The two-day event gathered young talents from various schools, all determined to give their best in every race.
For the DIS swimmers, it was more than just about speed or medals β it was about courage, teamwork, and the shared joy of striving together toward excellence. With every dive, stroke, and finish, they embodied the Dominican values of perseverance, confidence, and care.
Under the guidance of Coach Sean Wang and the support of Team Manager Ms. Vivian Lin, the DIS swimmers competed with heart, courage, and resilience. Their efforts paid off with an impressive collection of medals across various events, and the team proudly earned the Overall Runner-Up in the Boys Division.

Among the many remarkable swimmers, Michael Junior Chen (G11L) delivered an extraordinary performance that captured everyoneβs attention. With six gold medals and three silver medals, Michaelβs consistency, power, and precision in the pool set him apart as one of the meetβs most outstanding athletes. Reflecting on his achievement, he shared, βEvery race was a chance to push myself and represent DIS with pride. But what meant the most was knowing my teammates were there cheering me on β we all gave our best.β
His humility and dedication embody the true spirit of sportsmanship and the Dominican values of excellence and teamwork.
Beyond the medals, the meet highlighted the unity and perseverance of the DIS swim team β from the cheers on the sidelines to the high-fives after every race. Each athlete contributed to the teamβs success through their discipline, sportsmanship, and love for the sport.
